1000 Trees & Plants Project

Camelot Rise and the Monash community working together to reduce Carbon Emissions.

On Saturday October 27 a massive tree planting day was held at Camelot Rise Primary School in Glen Waverley. Most school families were present as well as many members of the surrounding Monash community.

Over 1,300 trees, plants and shrubs were planted, in a united effort to assist both our students and the local community to become actively involved in reducing carbon emissions in the City of Monash. A number of local businesses chose to sponsor the event so that they too could do their bit to help offset carbon emissions being produced. This is the clear message that Camelot Rise is trying to deliver that we all need to work together on this important issue and when we do so much more can be achieved.

The Mayor Cr Tom Morrissey officially opened the project and planted the first tree, after which the mass planting began.  The photo opposite shows the Mayor and Camelot Rise Principal Mrs Joan Fary admiring Tom’s great work!
