Welcome From the President
As new parents to the school or for those who already have children at Camelot, a great way to make new friends and help the school community is by joining a little group we like to call Parents’ Club.
Parents’ Club is responsible for major fund raising for the school. This year we did this by way of a parent’s trivia night, a student’s disco, various drives and fun theme days for the students. Our aim is to make fund raising fun and easy so everyone benefits. The money raised then goes back to the school community.
Parents’ Club is run officially with a president and committee members but this is as official as we get! We meet once a month at the school for a cuppa and a catch up. Most of the members have smaller children so they are there playing too. There are plenty of laughs but we manage to get the job done. Other than meeting once a month the level of involvement in Parents’ Club is up to you. You can do as much as organise an event or as little as collecting the Parents’ Club mail.
Another important part of our role is to arrange volunteers to help in the canteen and uniform shop. Again your level of involvement is up to you, it can be once a term or once a month. The children LOVE the canteen but without help we can not open it. Remember, no contribution is too little and many hands make light work.
Parents Club is also a great way to make friends with families across the whole school community as well as bringing a smile to your child’s face. There will be a meeting early in the year to sign up new members and form the committee for 2008. Come and see what it’s all about. We can’t wait to meet you.
Monica
