All of our students from Prep to Year 6 participated in the school production ‘How Camelot got in the Groove’, that was held over two consecutive nights in August, 2008.
The production was held at the Kel Watson Theatre at Forest Hill Secondary College, East Burwood as the cost of the venue was within the production budget and, as the theatre seats 400 people, two nights will be necessary to cater for our school community. Much effort was put into the Camelot Rise school production, and it was a great opportunity for students to showcase their talents – twice!
The school production committee is a very conscientious and enthusiastic team who began working on the idea and the script during Term 4 last year. The story tells of a grandfather’s journey through music, history and dance from the past to the present.
All grades were involved in a fifteen week dance workshop (minimum 45 minutes per week) and were trained by a professional dance instructor. The children then performed their dance skills on stage at the theatre as part of the production.
This was one of our best productions, full of fun and excitement for our students were involved in learning many new skills.
