A Community School

Camelot Rise Primary School, established in 1976, is situated in attractive treed grounds in the north east corner of the City of Monash. Is it a medium sized school that enjoys the highest level of community support and involvement. Our size enables us to cater effectively for the needs of all our students.

School Philosophy

Camelot Rise Primary School's philosophy is embodied in its Mission Statement which states that "Our students will leave Camelot Rise as optimistic and resilient lifelong learners with skills for future success as responsible citizens in the 21st Century." Our school is committed to providing a positive learning environment for all its students within small classes with experienced and caring teachers.

Facilities

The school consists of four well maintained specialised learning centres including a junior learning centre, senior learning centre and a well stocked library, architect designed Art/Craft Room and Multi Purpose Room as well as a five module unit for the middle school. The grounds are enhanced by modern play equipment, quiet, shaded areas, many under cover locations and a wide variety of sports facilities.

Curriculum

An integrated approach has ensured an effective coverage of all the key learning areas. There is an emphasis on providing a differentiated curriculum across all key learning areas to cater for the individual needs of students. This is most clearly evidenced by our vertical mathematics program that is run in conjunction with Children in High Intellectual Potential (CHIP) Programs.

Students are taught specific Thinking skills and strategies to enhance their independent learning.

We enjoy a long standing reputation for academic excellence across all areas of the curriculum including sport.

Other Activities

Camelot Rise hosts an overseas study tour every second year to New Caledonia as part of our French program. The tour enables students to use the language skills they have developed and be immersed in a French culture.

Our parents' club is very active within the school providing social activities for the students and parents and raising valuable funds.
