NASA and the World Wide Video Broadcast
Seven students were selected to represent our school at an International Broadcasting Conference. Leading scientists from around the world were linked up to discuss Global Warming and the impact on the Arctic regions. NASA organised the conference and it was linked to scientists in the US, Africa, Egypt, Mexico, China, Wales, Australia, etc. It was a live broadcast so anyone on the internet at the time, from anywhere in the world, were able to watch and listen to some of the world’s leading scientists. We were honoured to be included in such an event and CRPS students presented our school’s approach to reducing greenhouse emissions and saving water.
We received excellent feedback from NASA and the Australian scientists who couldn’t believe how well our students were able to deal with the more complex issues and how they spoke and presented.
I would like to acknowledge the hard work undertaken by the students, as they were given a very short time frame to prepare for the big event. Congratulations to Niki K, Chris V, Rob P, Ella M, Stuart M, Kyle G and Matthew T for their dedication and performance at the World Broadcasting Conference. Thank you also to Rebecca Vavasseur for assisting with transport. Webcast can be downloaded at http://www.astc.org/iglo/?p=90
