Our Values

The following values have been defined as those that affirm life at Camelot Rise Primary School:​

These are the core focus of program and wellbeing development, and are the values which we all abide by. These values are defined by students, staff and our community to ensure we have articulated what these mean to us. 

RESPONSIBILTY  definition:   Taking ownership of our actions and making wise choices.

Staff

Staff demonstrate RESPONSIBILTY by:

  • Providing a safe, friendly and challenging learning environment

  • Being a positive role model for parents and children

  • Arriving to school and classrooms on time 

Community

Our community demonstrate RESPONSIBILITY by:

  • Supporting the school in its endeavours to provide the best educational outcomes for each child

  • Promoting a safe and supportive school environment

  • Sending students to school on time, with lunches and in correct school uniform

  • Ensuring students regularly attend school.

Students

Students demonstrate RESPONSIBILITY by:

Foundation:

  • Taking care of their own belongings e.g. putting their take home books in the reading tub, hanging up their school bag

  • Being punctual to class after recess and lunch play

  • Remembering to go to the toilet and getting a drink during break times

  • Putting things back where they came from

 

Level 1 and 2:

  • Tidying tables before leaving

  • Taking notices, take home books, lunch boxes home

  • Completing work during the allocated time

 

Level 3 and 4:

  • Completing homework on time and to the best of their ability

  • Being responsible for their own behavior

  • Managing time conscientiously

  • Organising and running the friendship corner

 

Level 5 and 6:

  • Being a good role model to the younger students at the school

  • Completing leadership requirements

  • Fulfilling expectations of the year level 

RESPECT  definition:   Being accepting and considerate of yourself, others’ feelings and differences. It means using good manners and caring for the environment.

Staff

Staff demonstrate RESPECT by:

  • Modelling respectful behaviours at all times

  • Respecting the rights of others 

Community

Our community demonstrate RESPECT by:

  • Showing respect for and valuing the school ethos

  • Being respectful of individual differences in the community

  • Treating all members of the school community in a polite and respectful manner

  • Respecting teacher professionalism in regards to results and the handling of issues

Students

Students demonstrate RESPECT by:

Foundation:

  • Putting their hand up when they wish to say something to the class

  • Listening to others

  • Keeping their hands to themselves

  • Using manners

Level 1 and 2:

  • Caring for belongings and school property

  • Maintaining eye contact when talking to others

  • Understanding and accepting that people can be different

​

Level 3 and 4:

  • Using positive self-talk

  • Communicating to others in a positive manner

  • Encouraging others

​

Level 5 and 6:

  • Putting things into perspective

  • Using positive language

  • Inspiring and influencing others to think positively 

RESILIENCE  definition:   Staying positive even when facing setbacks and challenges.

Staff

Staff demonstrate RESILIENCE by:

  • Being mindful of the rights and feelings of others

  • Acting professionally at all times 

Community

Our community demonstrate RESILIENCE by:

  • Allowing students to make mistakes and be responsible for their actions

  • Accepting that things will sometimes go wrong

  • Discussing and appreciating both sides of an issue

Students

Students demonstrate RESILIENCE by:

Foundation:

  • Understanding that mistakes are okay

  • Having lots of tries and keep on trying

  • Using the '5 finger' strategy

 

Level 1 and 2:

  • Taking risks in learning

  • Using encouraging language

  • Have a go, even if things seem too hard or boring

Level 3 and 4:

  • Communicating issues and feelings and displaying appropriate behavior

  • Persisting with work and friendships; and relationships with others

​

Level 5 and 6:

  • Learning from mistakes

  • Understanding themselves as learners
